Lanark Race Course - Sunday 11 August 2019

The main event hub will be at Lanark Racecourse (just outside the Rugby Clubhouse). Here you will also find registration, warm up area, presentation zone and all the entertainment.

The events

Trails runs 10k, 5k, 3k & 1k. The Junior Lanimer cup races are free children’s races from 50 to 800m

5k (under 8’s accompanied by an adult)

Junior Lanimer Cup Races (50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m)

Registration

Registration opens 1 February 2019 @ 09:00 and closes Sunday 4 August 2019 @ 23.59.

If spaces allow participants can register on the day but to avoid disappointment advance registration is recommended.

We cannot guarantee spaces after online bookings close.

All runners can collect their race numbers & timing chip from 08:30 on the morning of the event.

Courses

5 & 10K trail run

The 5k course will start at Lanark Racecourse and head down towards Lanark Loch. From here runners will run a full loop of the loch then head back up towards the racecourse, before entering the racecourse runners will turn into the woods/cycle path for 3/4 of this route before re-joining the racecourse for a final lap.

The 10k route is a challenging double circuit of the 5k.

Course surfaces: Lanark loch - red gravel, Lanark racecourse - grass, woods/cycle route – trail

3K trail run **New for 2019**

This new route will incorporate the flat grass surface of the racecourse and a small section of the wooded trail.

Perfect for our juniors that are looking for a further course or for those who may find the 5k too much.

Junior 1K fun run

This course will be on the racecourse but will allow children to be timed whilst they race over the 1k flat, grass course.

Junior Lanimer cup races (50m - 800m)

All on flat ground on the Racecourse just outside the pitches/rugby club house

50m - toddler dash, under 4's

100m - ages 4-6

200m - ages 7-8

400m - ages 9-10

800m - ages 11-12

Gifts/prizes

At the end of each events, participants will receive their unique Lanark themed medals and event t-shirts. 

Junior Lanimer runners will also receive a small gift.

There will be water refreshments, snack & fruit at the end for all runners.

Prizes will be awarded for:

10k event                       1st, 2nd & 3rd male and female. The 1st placed male & female will be awarded the Edinburgh-Lanimer Cup & the Glasgow-Lanimer Cup.

5k event                                  1st, 2nd & 3rd male & female

3k event                                  1st, 2nd & 3rd male & female

1k event                                  1st, 2nd & 3rd boy & girl

800m children’s race             1st male & female will be awarded the Junior Lanimer Cups

Car parking

Car parking facilities are available at the racecourse, the loch and at Lanark Auction Market.

Toilet and changing facilities

Toilets, changing & shower facilities are available within the football hut (with additional portable toilets available at the side)

What to bring?

Running shoes, gloves (not essential) and appropriate clothing.

Bag storage

Storage tags will be available from registration on the day.

Water stations/refreshments

There will be water stations around the course and every participant will receive a bottle of water at the finish.

There will be a catering company on site throughout the event.

Photography

There will be an official race photographer at the event, these pictures will be available on the event website, SLLC Facebook and twitter pages.
