Sprint Gala 1 2022

GAA Sprint Gala 1 (2022)

Date: Friday 27th May

Time: 1800-2100

Venue: Crownpoint Stadium

Open to athletes in the Under 13 Age Group and above

Events on offer include:

100m (FULL)
300m (U15W, U15M, U17W) (6 spaces)
400m (U17M+, U20W+) (24 spaces)
Long Jump (FULL)
Shot Put (10 spaces)

All track events are open to Wheelchair racers and frame runners.

Athlete's will be given the opportunity to enter two 100m races for the night.

Heats will be seeded and run from slowest to fastest.

Field events will be limited to pools of 12 athletes and if there is demand we will endeavour to host 2 pools per field event.

All athletes will be given at least 4 attempts (possibly 6 if there's room in the timetable).

Timetable:

Provisional order of events:

1830 - 100m (Round 1)

1830 - Shot Put (Pool 1)

1830 - Long Jump (Pool 1)

1930 - 300m/400m

2000 - Long Jump (Pool 2)

2000 - Shot Put (Pool 2)

2015 - 100m (Round 2)

Entries:

(£8.50 per event)

Entries open on Q-buster on Friday 29th April and will operate on a first come first served basis, once the event is full entries will close, so enter quick to avoid missing out.

However, we will operate a waiting list for all events contact [email protected] if you wish to be added.

Please let us know if you are no longer able to compete.

The maximum number of entries for this meet will be 250.

Prize Pot:

We will be offering a "prize pot" of £800 for Sprint Gala 1.

Athletes will have the chance to get their hands on some £££ if they hit the following standards:

£100 100m Men - 10.70

£100 100m Women - 12.05

£100 400m Men - 47.25

£100 400m Women - 55.00

£100 Long Jump Men - 7.50m

£100 Long Jump Women - 6.20m

£100 Shot Put Men - 16.40m

£100 Shot Put Women - 14.20m

***Any athlete to achieve the standard will split the pot, i.e. if only one male 100m male runs 10.70 he will take the £100 prize pot, if 2 athletes run under they will each receive £50, and so on for each event.

If no athlete hits the standard for that event it will roll over to the our next Sprint Gala on Wednesday 29th June.
