Cam’Glen 10K River Run, Cuningar Loop 1K Fun Run
Sunday 1st September 2019
The 10K River Run will start at Westburn Hall in Cambuslang G72 7TF and finish at Cuningar Loop, Cuningar Woodland Park G73 1PW. The 1K Fun Run will start and finish in Cuningar Loop Woodland Park. During and after the event there will be a variety of free Children’s activities at Cuningar Loop until 2pm. This is a new and exciting woodland park on the banks of the River Clyde and a great place to enjoy the fresh air and get some exercise.

If spaces allow participants can register on the day but to avoid disappointment advance registration is recommended.
We cannot guarantee spaces after online bookings close.
On the day of the event you will collect your race number, timing chip, safety pins and bag label for the 10K River Run at Westburn Hall in Cambuslang between 08:30 and 09:30. For the 1K Fun Run you will collect your race number at Cuningar Loop between 08:15 and 09:00.
This is mainly a flat course following the National Cycle Route 75 path along the banks of the River Clyde, then crossing over the footbridge to Dalmarnock onto the finish at Cuningar Loop. It’s a good opportunity for both the fun runner and more serious competitors to gain a fast time over 10K. The course will be clearly marked at each 1K with a water station situated near the 4K mark. There will still be public access on the National Cycle Route 75 Path during the event, please be aware of any dog walkers, cyclists and any overhanging shrubs. Course Marshals and Mobile First Aiders will be situated at various points along the course and easily identified by their High Visibility clothing. There will also be First Aid Provisions available at Cuningar Loop, near the finish area. Course maps will be available on the wall at Westburn Hall during registration.
All competitors that complete the 1K Fun Run will receive a medal at the finish. At the end of the 10K River Run event, participants will receive a medal and event t-shirt. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male and Female overall at the finish area in Cuningar Loop at approximately 11:30am.
There will be limited parking on site at Cuningar Loop Woodland Park and on Downiebrae Road adjacent the main entrance to Cuningar Loop Woodland Park. There is strictly NO parking at or near Westburn Hall in Cambuslang.
Dalmarnock and Rutherglen Railway Station is approximately a 15min walk to Cuningar Loop Woodland Park. Newton Railway Station is approximately a 2min walk to Westburn Hall. There will be a Shuttle Bus available between 08:00 and 09:15 to take competitors to registration and the start of the race at Westburn Hall.
Toilets and changing facilities
There will be toilets within Westburn Hall and Portable Toilets available at Cuningar Loop Woodland Park. Unfortunately there is no changing or shower facilities available.
What to bring?
Running shoes and appropriate clothing. NB Please bring some warm kit for after the race.
All 10K Competitors will collect a bag label at registration and this will be used for your kit bag. All kit bags will be transported from Westburn Hall to the Bag Drop Gazebo at Cuningar Loop, Cuningar Woodland Park. (It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure that your kit bag is labelled) We will not take any responsibility for missing kit bags that are not collected from the gazebo at Cuningar Loop.
There will be water stations situated around the course and at the finish. Hot /Cold food and drinks will be available from the Wee Cabin Café at the adventure play area in Cuningar Loop.
