PACEMAKER ENTERPRISES supported by the THE EDINBURGH MARATHON FESTIVAL offer a  Coaches Forum and open discussion on the subject of ENDURANCE training for different groups of athletes, Junior/Senior/Masters; Male/Female; Track – Off Track ; 800-5k; 10k – Marathon; Ultra; Hill/Trail; Triathlon.

For local Coaches and athletes who may be travelling with coaches and athletes who may be competing in the 2019 Edinburgh Marathon Festival.

 Subjects for discussion:

  • What is Endurance Training and its relevance for athletes?
  • Does Endurance Training inhibit speed and vice versa?
  • How important is understanding ‘Pace’ ?
  • Aerobic and Anaerobic training; what is most effective balance?
  • The balance of the Gym and Core development.
  • What makes a ‘Good Read’ for Athletics Coaches? Books past & present.
  • With digital aids, what is the place for ‘hands on’ coaching? Videos and DVD’s?
  • What Targets for events over 800 mts are we setting for Scotland?
  • An opportunity to view part of Arthur Lydiard’s lecture at Meadowbank in 1991.

Meadowmill Sports Centre Prestonpans in East Lothian has a Conference facility that can take 50 delegates so please sign up ASAP to avoid disappointment.
