Rutherglen Christian Aid Fun Run/Walk Overtoun Park Sunday 7th June

Want to have a fun afternoon and help us raise money for the work of Christian Aid?  Then sign up here today!  The more runners, joggers and walkers who get involved, the more fun everyone will have.  Dress up if you like, or wear something red!

The  5K ROUTE (for age 7+) goes three times clockwise round the outside of Overtoun Park and is open to all abilities.  The all-age 1K ROUTE is entirely within the park -  running, walking, toddling, or (for children only) on a tricycle, scooter or similar.

If you register, you'll be sent details and your running number nearer the date of the event, but here are a few things you might like to know now:

Check in: 1.15pm onwards  Warm up: 2.00pm  1K start: 2.15pm  5K start:3:00pm

When you finish your event, don’t forget to collect your Finisher Certificate - and your goodies!

Want to do some training first?  Check out  the Couch to 5K NHS programme for advice

All the money we raise will go to Christian Aid’s work in eradicating the scandal of poverty. In the west of Scotland we have too much rain, but families like Rose's in Kenya are having to cope with more frequent and more intense droughts, due to the climate crisis. People living on the sharp edge of climate change around the world are losing food, water, homes and family. Every day, they have to walk further, dig deeper and be stronger to survive.

By taking part in this Fun Run/Walk, and perhaps by collecting sponsorship too **, you are helping communities on the front line of the climate crisis.  You can learn more about Christian Aid’s climate work here.

Please book ahead here on Q-buster, or by collecting a paper entry form from your local church.   We can only accept entries on the day if we are sure that it is safe to do so.

**Collecting sponsorship would help us to save more lives!  Go to our Rutherglen Christian Aid Fun Run donations page on JustGiving, set up a JustGiving page of your own, or ask us to send you a paper Christian Aid sponsor form.
